CLI Command Prompt Issues Reading TXT Files in Packet Tracer
Trying to practice some CLI stuff in Cisco Packet Tracer for my UC cert, but when I attempt to read a .txt file from the command prompt on a device, it throws errors or just hangs. I've placed the file correctly in the sim, but no dice. Anyone know if this is a limitation or if there's a workaround? Feels like a basic feature that's broken.

Packet Tracer's CLI has some wonky limits, especially with file ops in UC scenarios. Make sure you're using the right syntax, like "more filename.txt" or whatever the device supports. If it's a router or switch, it might not handle external files the same as real hardware. As a bypass, copy the text into the config directly or use the notepad tool in PT. I ran into this too – turns out it's not fully emulated for all commands, so stick to core networking sims and use real gear for advanced file stuff if possible.
